Queen Street Mall and Edward Street are located in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. Home to the city’s best shopping, visitors will find everything from top department stores to luxury boutiques and specialty stores. There’s even a plentiful choice of coffee houses, cafes and restaurants to satisfy any craving.
Just blocks away, Brisbane’s Botanical Gardens provide the perfect spot to enjoy scenic river views. On the western side of the gardens, visitors can tour Queensland’s Parliament House, as well as the Old Government House. Built in 1862, Old Government House is one of Brisbane’s most cherished historic sites.
Not far from Old Government House, the Goodwill Bridge will take you to Brisbane’s top cultural and entertainment district. Home to Expo ’88, South Bank Parklands is now a vibrant recreation area complete with welcoming green spaces and an inviting manmade beach and swimming area. Stroll along the river pathway before heading to the giant Wheel of Brisbane. This giant Ferris wheel provides stunning views of the river and city skyline.
Just steps away, visitors will enjoy the engaging exhibits at the Queensland Art Gallery and Queensland Museum and Science Centre. You can complete the roundtrip tour by walking across Victoria Bridge which will lead you back to Queen Street Mall. Better yet, take an exhilarating ride on a Brisbane City Cat ferry. From South Bank, catch the City Cat to the opposite side of the CBD at Eagle Street Pier. Here you’ll find some of Brisbane’s top rated restaurants and bars. Nothing beats sitting down with a good meal or refreshing drink while enjoying the Brisbane River and Story Bridge views.
