Getting to and leaving the airport

For passengers arriving at Hamilton Airport, transport to the various island resorts is provided by a free shuttle bus. Other resorts offer chauffer driven buggy services. Visitors should confirm their arrival time with their resort before arrival. Passengers connecting to Airlie Beach or other islands can purchase ferry tickets in the luggage claim area with Cruise Whitsundays. The ferry terminal is located just 100 metres away and can be accessed on foot.

Passengers leaving Airlie Beach for Hamilton Island must use a taxi service to reach the ferry terminal. Check-in at the Port of Airlie must be completed at least 30 minutes before departure. 

Hamilton Island Airport Facilities & Services

Hamilton Island Airport is a small facility with just three gates. The airport does not use jet bridges, and boarding is done via portable air-stairs. The terminal itself features a restaurant, a café and small retail shop.
